Breast Cancer Awareness
- A lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest or armpit
- A change to the skin, such as puckering or dimpling
- A change in the colour of the breast – the breast may look red or inflamed
- A nipple change, for example it has become pulled in (inverted)
- Rash or crusting around the nipple
- Unusual liquid (discharge) from either nipple
- Changes in size or shape of the breast
On its own, pain in your breasts is not usually a sign of breast cancer. But look out for pain in your breast or armpit that’s there all or almost all the time.
If you notice a change to your breast that’s new or unusual for you, don't hesitate to call the practice on 023 8084 4546

Cervical Screening Awareness Week
To mark Cervical Screening Awareness Week (20-26 June), Forestside Medical Practice is joining Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust to raise awareness of the test and encourage sharing of tips and experiences to help more women and people with a cervix to attend.
Worryingly almost one in three across the UK don’t take up their cervical screening invitation.
Cervical screening isn’t always easy. Forestside Medical Practice is encouraging sharing of tips and experiences to help others feel more able to book a test.
Samantha Dixon, Chief Executive, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust: “We want everyone to have the support and facts they need to access cervical screening and deal with an unexpected result. Cervical screening can help stop cervical cancer before it starts so it’s an incredibly important test.”
Join the campaign by sharing your tips, stories and experiences by using #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek or #CervicalScreeningTips and tag on Instagram @joscervicalcancertrust and Twitter @JoTrust
