We run an appointments system called Advanced Access, which is a government initiative to enable patients to:-
Gain access to a healthcare professional within 24 hours via e-consult.
Book same day access to a healthcare professional for Urgent medical needs within our Dibden Purlieu surgery call 02380 844546.
Book on the day appointments within our Marchwood surgery are all booked via doctor triage only. This means you are placed on the triage list for a clinician to call you back. The clinician will then assess the urgency and book the appropriate appointment. To book an appointment on the triage list call 02380 844546
Or book a routine pre-bookable 10 minute appointments up to 4 weeks in advance by calling 02380 844546.
Please be aware you will need to keep your phone with you when waiting for a call back as the clinician will make two attempts to call you back on the number you leave. If after two attempts they cannot contact you, you will need to contact the surgery again.
If we cannot accommodate your needs by having an available appointment at a time when you are able to get to surgery (due to working out of area) then we can book you an appointment to see a doctor or nurse within Lymington or Ringwood. Their opening times are:-
•Monday - Sunday 08:00 - 21:00 at Lymington
•Monday - Friday 18:30 - 21:30 at Ringwood•Saturday - 0800 - 17:00 at Ringwood•Sunday - 10:00 - 14:00 at Ringwood
Further appointments are available at the Romsey and Totton Tri Locality Ltd Service Hubs.
Your Doctor will see you in the surgery by appointment. Appointments can be made with reception staff either by calling in at the surgery or by telephone on 02380 844546. When you make an appointment, the receptionist will ask for a brief idea of the nature of the problem so that an appropriate length of time can be allocated to you, and this also provides the Doctor with a little information prior to your arrival at the surgery. Any information concerning your health will be treated in the strictest confidence, as the receptionists are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors
Please make one appointment for each person who wishes to see the doctor.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that this time can be offered to somebody else. We try to be as flexible as possible and keep to time, but sometimes delays are unavoidable due to the health needs of the patient being seen before you or when Emergency situations occur, (this is out of our control and we can only apologise in advance if this should happen) We recommend that you get to know one doctor and usually book to see them for ongoing medical conditions, so that we can provide continuity of care and thus a better service, but we realize this is not always possible.
Should you wish to speak to someone in confidence, please ask at reception and a room will be made available to assist you further.
Before booking an appointment with the surgery please consider using eConsult first.
In some situations, you may prefer to speak to your doctor or to one of our nursing sisters on the phone. We will try to arrange this where possible however; please be aware if we are short staffed or your GP/Nurse is away this may not always be possible or there could be a delay in getting back to you.
To book a telephone consultation or to speak with the secretary please call the following number:
You may be given a suitable time to ring back, or the secretary may take your number for us to telephone you back. It is not usually possible for the doctor to speak to you there and then. If you are telephoning for the results of a test, please telephone after 2.00pm and select option 2.
To maintain confidentiality, results are only given to the patient or to a parent or guardian in the case of a child. If in any doubt, and we ask to telephone you back, please understand that we do this only to protect your confidentiality.
Enquiry and Helpline: 02380 877900 and give us the fullest details
House calls are reserved for those patients for whom the doctor would consider it medically unwise for the patient to be brought to the surgery.
Please do not request a house call simply because you feel that you will be seen more quickly that way or because of lack of transport.
We would request that where possible a house call request is made before 10.00am as the duty doctor may be delayed in surgery later on in the day.
In the same time that one patient can be seen and assessed at home; four patients can be seen and assessed in the surgery.
If you are concerned about sitting in the waiting room (for example if you are feeling quite unwell, are worried about contact with others or if you have a poorly child), please telephone the above number and explain. A private examination room is available where you can wait to see the Doctor.
The practice offers evening appointments between 6:30pm and 9:15pm on Thursday evenings alternating between our two sites operating two consecutive clinics each Thursday evening.
Please contact our reception staff at your surgery to book an appointment
If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, Then please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment or when checking in at the desk or at the point of seeing your doctor.
Unfortunately due to the pressures placed on general practice and a shortage of clinicians our policy changed on the 1st April 2017 in that any patients moving out of our catchment area will need to re-register with another surgery closer to where they live and that we will be removing them from our surgery list 31 days from receiving the change.
